Some features will be around long after the iPhone ends

iOS 15 For Future

When iOS 15 hits roughly a billion iPhones in the fall, it will bring a number of changes that will catch your eye immediately. The update will make it easy to identify and ignore notifications once they arrive. Safari’s tab groups will help you browse faster and smarter. And Spotlight Search shows richer, more relevant results from apps and the web.

But much more interesting is the way iOS 15 makes the iPhone take a back seat. While Apple’s iconic mobile phone is likely to have many years of relevance to come, Apple is preparing a long-term strategy with iOS…

Apple is continuing to expand its gaming service, this time with a few classics in a new guise

Alto’s Odyssey, Angry Birds Reloaded, and Doodle God Universe On Apple Arcade

The angry birds will return soon — as “Angry Birds Reloaded” for the Apple Arcade subscription service. The hit from the early days of the iPhone and iPad era was also a model for how you can ride a once-good idea to death and make it virtually unplayable as a Free2Play title via in-app purchases.

For Apple Arcade, Rovio apparently goes back to the origins of the game, old and new characters appear and this time you can control the pigs as a player — all without annoying in-app purchases and advertising.

Also in the “Coming soon” section of Apple…

For a long time, watchOS was a kind of playground: the developers were not able to let off steam there but not as relevant to sales as the iPhone

watchOS 8

Apple spent a good amount of time on the WWDC stage describing its health functionalities. These can be divided into two categories: The area from the health app, which is also available on the iPhone, and the actual watchOS 8, which will be available on Apple watches around the world in the fall.

While the predecessor caused a lot of excitement last summer, watchOS 7 was even able to detect hand washing and downscaling the time required, this year’s release is rather disappointing for some people. Let’s discuss this clearly…

As the last reports correctly predicted, Apple has drilled out…

The 24-inch iMac is tempting, but you can spend your money smarter. Three reasons the Mac Mini is a better choice over the colorful new iMac

iMac 2021 or Mac Mini

After more than a decade of the same design, the iMac finally has a brand new look — and it’s awesome. The iMac 2021 also has Apple’s super-fast M1 processor, a bigger display with even more pixels, a much-needed update to the Facetime camera, and some pretty great audio features. But is that enough, or should you spend your money elsewhere?

Performance And Price

One thing is clear. The M1 chip is far superior to the 8th generation Intel four-core and six-core options. …

Apple employees demand more allowances for working from the home office in an open letter

Photo by Carles Rabada on Unsplash

Last week, Apple CEO Tim Cook sent out a letter outlining the plan to return to the company’s offices after an extended period of remote work during the pandemic. Apple employees, he explained, are required to be in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays and are allowed to work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays.

In addition, employees are allowed to work from home for two weeks a year if they have the approval of their line manager.

Why 2,800 Employees Are Protesting Against Cook

But a group of Apple employees protested the new rules, which will come into effect this fall. A letter sent on…

Apple is finally taking its Siri offline: From autumn, the digital assistant will do some tasks without an Internet connection

Offline Siri

Apple is making a big deal of being at the forefront of data protection on the internet. So it’s surprising that Siri has needed an internet connection to function for all these years.

It handles all of your requests online, even for things that don’t have an online component like setting timers or adjusting the volume. Just say “Hey Siri” when you are not connected to the internet and you will get this:

That will finally change with iOS 15 and iPadOS 15. Siri works on any device with an A12 Bionic or newer processor (that’s an iPhoneXS / XR…

An interesting feature is now also coming to Apple TV: 3D audio, also known as spatial audio. In order for it to work on the set-top box, Apple had to trick a bit

Spatial Audio On tvOS 15

Anyone who has tried Spatial Audio on iOS 14 will have noticed that Apple has developed something very impressive here: Spatial Audio — also known as 3D audio — creates a virtual 3D surround sound effect in stereo -Headphones.

As a user, you are even more involved in the action. Tracking devices in the headphones such as the Airpods Pro and Airpods Max can calculate which direction your head is moving so that the 3D audio effect can be placed according to the paired device.

This actually creates the feeling when listening as if the sound is really coming from…

As always, the new iOS version is rich in new features. Apple failed to mention several of these on the WWDC stage.

Apple packed a ton of new features into its nearly two-hour keynote on Monday, but not everything made it onto the stage. Here are the best iOS 15 features that you didn’t hear at WWDC21.

Silence In Voice Memos

Voice memos analyze the audio recordings and automatically skips silences with a tap of the finger.

New Widgets

Apple adds widgets for Find My, Game Center, App Store, Sleep, Mail, and Contacts with Family Sharing integration.

Siri Sharing

Along with offline support, Siri can now share items that are on the screen, such as Photos, web pages, messages, and more. …

The new option “Data Protection” will appear in the settings of the email client on the Mac

The fact that newsletter providers keep track of their subscribers is an open secret in the industry. For most users, this tracking is often done unconsciously and downright covertly: The so-called tracking pixels are sent with the mail and can, for example, report to the sender server when the mail was opened, even the user’s IP is passed on (in some cases).

The technology has been around for years, but this practice became a topic of discussion in early 2021 when the BBC published joint research with the mail provider. Accordingly, the tracking in the newsletter has assumed a pandemic…

Apple presented the new iOS 15 at WWDC 2021. The finished version will be available to all users in autumn, but the public beta will appear in July. How to install pre-release versions of the operating systems

iOS 15 Public Beta

Apple has finally introduced iOS 15, which is equipped with a lot of new features. It will take a few more months before it appears in its final version. When exactly is not yet known, Apple was once again very vague and named, as usual, only “autumn” as the release date.

Usually, however, the new iOS will be rolled out at the latest when the new iPhone generation goes on sale, which takes place in September.

Tim Cook announced at the end of the WWDC keynote that developer betas will be available immediately. For the average user, however, this is…
